We are not dead 😀 We have just not been active in the world of literature. We’ve been running low on our inspiration but we’re back now! We are hoping that this challenge we are about to face will bring us back to the mystical world of literature.
Our challenge is to read everyday for a month and hopefully read more than one book a month. It’s not like a readathon type of thing. It’s mostly just to get back the habit of reading and making time to read. We both have set our goals and we will tell you about our progress each week. If you want to join us on the challenge then you’re very welcome to. It would also be cool to see what you’re reading.
I’m going to be reading “The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D Salinger for this challenge. I have already started and I’m currently 90 pages in. I’m really enjoying reading it so hopefully it won’t take me too long to finish it!! If I end up finishing it before the end of this challenge then I will read “Peter Pan” by J.M Barrie.
I have a pile of books that I’m hoping to read this year so fingers crossed this challenge helps me to get through some of the books! I’m looking forward to doing this challenge and writing on this blog more when we’re documenting our adventures in reading.
I have set quite an ambitious goal since I do have some books for school that I need to read. I want to finish one book a week, which will be achievable if I do end up reading every single day. Firstly I want to finish “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley. Then I want to read “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde, “A Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man” by James Joyce and lastly I also want to visit “Metro 2033” by Dimitri Gluhhovski which I probably have to start over.
The reason why I’m so excited about this blog post is because I really have been missing my reading sessions and I hope I can bring them back with a chill challenge like this. I feel like my artistic features are slowly coming back to me and reading is and was a huge part of it.
So, there we have it! Both Ann and I are really looking forward to doing this challenge and bringing the blog back to life. This is a good place to start to ease us back into reading and writing so I hope you’ll join us!
